Abstract
The article deals with the institutionalization of cognitive research in the post-Soviet area on example of the New Bulgarian University (Sofia, Bulgaria). The authors describe the way of development of this direction of research, beginning with multi-disciplinary seminars on cognitive science and ending with the creation of the Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science, conducting regular international conferences, summer schools for students, graduate students and young scientists from around the world, as well as actively engaged in research and publishing. The article presents the main directions of researches of the Center and the main scientific results obtained during the years of its existence.
