Abstract
Structure and dynamics of explanation is one of the central themes of the philosophy of science of the 20th century. The article traced the evolution of the problem of explanation in the 1950-80s. In this case, the following questions are addressed: deductive-nomological model of explanation, the symmetry of explanation and prediction, inductive-statistical explanation, reduction of theory as explanation.
