Psychology in the 21st Century: The Problem of the Subject-Matter of the Science

The article is devoted to discussion of psychology prospects as a science. It is disputed that psychology does not represent a single science, but is a set of generally unconnected disciplines. The author considers psychology to be a fundamental scientific discipline, to have a beautiful future. It is at the beginning of its becoming as the fundamental science. In the article, the traditional conclusion is questioned, according to which psychology became the independent science in the second half of the nineteenth century. The author argues psychology not to have been become the independent science yet. This goal has not been achieved yet. The article analyzes the conditions and the first steps along this path. A problem of the psychology subject-matter is analyzed. The author offered the subject-matter to be the inner world of human. Advantages of this approach are traced. The first step to be taken is to revise the interpretation of the psychology subject-matter. The article suggests the subject-matter of psychology to be the inner world of human, the advantages of this approach are analyzed. The psychology subject matter as the inner world of human is considered to allow solving a lot of problems accumulated in general psychology.
