The main direction of the research of S. A. Bogdanchikov is the history of Soviet psychology, first of all, during 1920–1930s. On the author's opinion, the main problems of this period are: the concept of Soviet psychology and its genesis. The author notes that while Soviet psychology did not exist in the early twenties, no other psychology, except the Soviet one, existed in the USSR by the end of the 1930s. For a researcher it is essential to understand how this transformation happened, what were its causes.
