Title	L.S. Vygotsky and A.N. Leontiev: personal foundations of continuity of ideas

Abstract	The authors consider the special role of implicit knowledge in the historical fate of scientific schools which at times with not numerous contents of scientists are able to make significant breakthroughs in the development of thought and generate major research traditions. It is noted that the vast majority of the largest and brightest scientists are disciples of no less outstanding personalities in science, and this pattern is repeated constantly by reference to the experience of their teachers. One of the hidden reasons of this phenomenon is the movement of such a special form of implicit knowledge as personal knowledge (M. Polanyi) which is not formalized in the text and passed to the direct communication between teacher and student. A striking example of this kind of communication shows the history of the origin and development of the school of L.S. Vygotsky – A.N. Leontiev – A.R. Luria, given birth to a large scientific tradition – cultural-activity psychology. On a material of history of cooperation of A.N. Leontiev and L.S. Vygotsky teh author considers the dyad of "teacher – student" in science. The logic of the succession of generations is shown by the example of the emergence meaning-oriented concepts of personality in the school of A.N. Leontiev. The hypothesis of repetitive (archetypal) cycles of the human way of life of the scientist is substantiated, which are based on themovement of implicit, personal knowledge.
